Three Vic Falls men arrested for growing dagga

Police in Victoria Falls have arrested three Kachechete Ward men after they were found in possession of 58 dagga/imbanje plants which they cultivated in their backyards.

The three accused Ntando Moyo (42), Johannes Mpunzi (65) and Crosswell Moyo (34), according to police records, were nabbed following a tip-off on Wednesday that they were cultivating dagga.

The court facts as presented by Asher Chindedza alleged that on December 30, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) received a tipoff that the three were cultivating some dagga plants in their homesteads and after obtaining a search warrant, police found Mpunzi cultivating 50 plants of dagga while Ntando and Crosswell had four each.

At Ntando’s homestead, police further found him in possession of 110grames of dried dagga leading to their arrest.

Victoria Falls resident’s magistrate who presided over the trio’s case remanded them in custody to Monday where they are expected to render their pleas.
