Binga student appeals for support to pursue A-Level studies

By Ndumiso Tshuma

An 18-year-old student from Binga is seeking financial assistance to continue her education after her family faced financial difficulties.

Twalumba Mudimba, who recently completed her O-Level studies at Chipali Secondary School, achieved strong results, earning seven Bs, one A, and a C in the 2024 examinations. She has been accepted to Lusulu High School to study Mathematics, Geography, and Science at A-Level.

However, despite her academic achievements, Mudimba now faces uncertainty over her future due to a lack of financial support.

“An organisation called Well-Wisher funded my education from Grade Six to Form Four, but due to unforeseen financial challenges, they are unable to continue supporting me,” she said.

Raised by her grandparents, Mudimba said they have done their best to support her education but can no longer afford her school fees, uniform, or stationery.

The cost of attending Lusulu High School includes $60 for school fees, a $20 boarding fee, and a one-time $25 registration fee. In addition, she requires a school uniform, stationery, and a smartphone, which the school has made compulsory for educational purposes.

“The fees may not seem high, but for my family, it is a significant burden. I am determined to work hard and make the most of this opportunity, but the financial strain is overwhelming,” she said.

Mudimba is appealing for community support to help her continue her studies.

“I am reaching out to anyone who can help, whether through a small donation or assistance with supplies. I have a passion for sciences and believe I can pursue my dreams and help my family,” she said.

Those willing to assist can contact Mudimba on +263 774 953 004.
