Skhosana fans mobilise resources to build him a dream home

Fans of Nkayi-basedย Maskandiย musician Sikhosana Buhlungu have come together to pool resources to build a modern home for the talented musician.

Sikhosana has hogged the limelight since he broke into the music scene with his breakthrough album, Kumnandi, which was released in June last year.

The album also earned him the Outstanding newcomer across all genres award at the Bulawayo Arts Awards (BAAs) last year.

His latest single Ntethe is an instant hit with the accompanying video receiving over 48 000 views in a week.

It is not only his music that has won him a lot of fans but his humorous responses and punchlines such as “Ngizakulimaza nge beat” have left many in stitches.

In May last year, CITE interviewed Skhosana and his hilarious response to a question asked by The Breakfast Club presenter, Zenzele Ndebele, made him an internet sensation.

In an interview with CITE, Sikhosanaโ€™s manager, Madlela Skhobokhobo said the house project came after several people, who were touched by Skhosanaโ€™s plight and mobilised resources to build him a house in his village in Gwamba.

โ€œThis project was inspired by people who have come to understand Sikhosana’s plight. They organised themselves to do something for โ€œumdalaโ€. It is a project that was started by the people, so itโ€™s a project owned by people and they are very excited to be partaking in this noble cause,โ€ Madlela said.

So far various people have pledged building material, money and livestock.
