Zupco hikes commuter fares

THE Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (Zupco) has hiked commuter fares from ZW$50 to ZW$80 for buses and ZW$100 for commuter omnibuses up from ZW$80.

In a statement, Tuesday, the parastatal said the new fares will take effect from February 16.

For those traveling a distance of 21 to 30 kilometers, they will now pay up from ZWL$100 per trip for ZUPCO buses up from ZWL$80 while Kombis will be charging ZWL$120 up from ZWL$100.

The fares of a distance of 31-40 kilometers were not changed and will remain on ZWL$100 for buses while for kombis it is ZWL$120.
