Three men from Makokoba arrested for murder

Three men from Makokoba Suburb in Bulawayo have been arrested by police in connection with the murder of a suspcted thief early this year. 

The accused suspects – Kelvin Sakungani (23), Thulani Ndlovu (29) and Tanyaradzwa Mangani (21) are accused of killing Nimrod Moyo on January 5, 2023 after an altercation at one of the suspect’s house. 

Moyo was discovered unconscious, bleeding from his mouth and with swollen eyes. 

Moyo passed away the following day on January 6, 2023. 

“Investigations carried by the police and information received from members of the public revealed that the now deceased had broken into Kelvin Sakungani’s house during the night leading to a fight between the two,” said Bulawayo provincial Police Spokesperson, Inspector Abednigo Ncube.  

While the two men were fighting, Inspector Ncube stated that one of the suspects, Thulani Ndlovu, arrived and struck the now deceased on the forehead several times with a knobkerry. 

“When Moyo became unconscious they rushed to Tanyaradzwa Mangani, the third suspect’s   house for help. Tanyaradzwa came and further assaulted the now deceased. Realising he was injured, the three accused persons took him to Fusini Shopping Centre in Makokoba where they dumped him,” said the police spokesperson. 

A tip off was received leading to the arrest of the three accused persons who are now helping police with the investigations. 

 “We would like to appreciate members of the public for supplying such valid information which led to the arrest of the accused persons and putting their trust in the police.  Members of the public are urged not to take law into their own hands but utilise all arms of government and all other legal routes.,” Inspector Ncube said.
