Fire destroys Nkulumane home, family needs help
A family from Ward 22 in Nkulumane, Bulawayo is facing distress as their four-roomed house was engulfed in flames yesterday.
The incident occurred while 40-year-old Elizabeth Maketo and her 20-year-old male child were away from home.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
In the wake of this tragedy, the family is urgently seeking assistance in the form of food, clothing, building materials, and furniture.
Ward Councillor Mmeli Moyo has issued an appeal to residents to support the affected family.
“It is with deep regret that we inform you of a tragedy that occurred at 621 Nkulumane, one way near Universal Church. A house was engulfed in flames resulting in the loss of all property and important documents belonging to the family residing there,” said Clr Moyo.
He said authorities are currently conducting investigations to determine the cause of the devastating fire.
“During this difficult time, we urge all members of the community to come together and show support for the affected family.”
“We humbly request for donations in any form to support the affected,” he said.

He said other items can be dropped at Nkulumane Hall tomorrow from 10 am to 6 pm.
