Also present at the celebration was councillor for Ward 5 Dumisani Nkomo who encouraged the business community to emulate Dr Haskins’ “kind gesture.”

“It is very rare for one to celebrate his birthday by doing such a kind gesture for the community. I encourage all business communities to do the same. Currently Ingutsheni is in need of at least 10 tonnes of mealie meal as there are currently over 700 patients as we speak,” he said.

“Ingutsheni is the only hospital of its kind in Zimbabwe and the donation done by Dr. Haskins is very commendable.”
