A BRAND new vehicle belonging to Chief Gampu of Tsholotsho  was reportedly stolen while parked at a local fuelling station in Bulawayo on Wednesday evening.
The vehicle-a silver grey Isuzu KB250 twin cab-was allegedly in the possession of one Ashel Sithole (54) of Gwabalanda suburb.
A source close to the investigations told CITE, Sithole allegedly drove to Nketa suburb with his son Onasisi (25) to fill a gas tank since they had no electricity in Gwabalanda.
The source said Sithole left his son with the car in a fuel queue at Nketa 6 garage while he went back home to return the gas tank.
“On December 5 at around 5PM, Sithole proceeded to Nketa with his son to get some gas. He left his son in a fuel queue and he went back home using public transport,” said the source.
“At around 8PM Onasisi poured in fuel worth $50 then went to a nearby food outlet at 10:30PM to buy food. He left the car keys in the ignition and the engine running. When he returned from the food outlet around 10:40PM, the car was missing,” said the source.
The source said in the car were three 20 litre fuel coupons and Chief Gampu’s date stamp.
The vehicle was still brand new and had not yet been registered.
