Music has long stirred hearts, but what happens when sound transforms into a movement?
Music for Water takes that leap, merging artistry with activism to confront one of humanity’s most pressing challenges: the fight for clean water access.
At its heart, Music for Water is more than a campaign, it is a movement. By fusing the universal language of music with the urgent struggle for clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, it shines a spotlight on underserved communities. Its flagship single,
“We Are The Leaders for Clean Water,” serves as both anthem and rallying cry, calling not just for support but for active engagement from humanitarian leaders and everyday citizens to stand with the millions still living without safe water.
Unlike conventional music projects, Music for Water is rooted in charity and purpose. Each participating artist turns their voice into an instrument of change—spotlighting the global water crisis and helping women, girls, and entire communities carve a path out of poverty through access to safe, clean water.

The song that started it all
“We Are The Leaders for Clean Water” is the official music video and anthem of the Music for Water campaign (see Global Distribution ). Written by Lacey “G Souldier” Turner and performed by Turner alongside Shawna Linzy, Liso Dingwall, and Pyrexx Singz, the track embodies the spirit of unity and purpose. Produced by JB Dondolo International Records (J.B.D.I.R.) alongside board members Lacey “G Souldier” Turner and Beatrice Davis, the song stands apart as a charitable campaign piece, using music—the world’s “universal medium and ambassador” —to ignite awareness of the global clean water crisis. With its powerful message and collaborative artistry, the song reminds listeners that everyone has a role to play in ensuring water flows where it is needed most.

Pyrexx Singz
Stephen Daniel Kurah, also a Music for Water winner better known as Pyrexx Singz, is proof that music and education can go hand in hand. The Nigerian artist, comedian, and educator has inspired students in classrooms as much as he has on stage. With a forthcoming album, Pyrexx is building his presence across Northern Nigeria and beyond, using his music to motivate audiences while tackling big issues like clean water access.
Why it matters
Clean water is more than a necessity, it is a fundamental human right. Yet millions around the world, especially in developing regions, remain without it. Music for Water bridges this gap by turning entertainment into impact, where every stream, performance, and lyric shared contributes to a collective push for solutions.
Beyond music: Climate-h2O
While Music for Water rallies awareness through art, JB Dondolo is also innovating on the technology front. In collaboration with the University of Johannesburg (UJ) Peets, the organisation is developing Climate-h2O, a groundbreaking water innovation slated for pilot testing in South Africa. Once validated, the technology will be scaled and mass-produced for communities across South Africa, Zimbabwe, and other African countries, bringing a sustainable solution to regions most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.
A global stage for a global cause
On the GRAMMY stage, where music’s reach is truly global, Music for Water delivers a powerful message: art is not only for entertainment. It can empower. It can heal. And it can turn the tide for communities left without clean water for far too long. When music flows, water follows and when water flows, communities flourish.
