Two drown while fetching water from Insiza River

Two people died on Friday last week after they reportedly drowned while attempting to fetch water in Insiza River.
The deceased have been identified as Nkosinami Mbewe, 22, of number 23 Marubamba Business Centre, and Wellington Ndlovu, 45, from Vusisizwe village in ward 2, Filabusi.
Matabeleland South acting provincial spokesperson Assistant Inspector Stanford Mguni confirmed the incident.
He said the deceased were driving in a car with Mandlenkosi Mbewe who was the driver.
They parked the car on the river bank and the deceased were in the process of collecting when the vehicle drifted into the river resulting in them drowning.
Mandlenkosi survived the incident.
“Their bodies have been retrieved, and their families have been notified,” said Assistant Inspector Mguni.
