Police appeal for help to identify man fatally struck by car in Famona

Police in Bulawayo are appealing to anyone who could help identify a man who was fatally struck by a car near the Famona fire station on Monday.

The now-deceased male adult is said to be approximately 34 years old.

Bulawayo acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele said the deceased was hit by a car while crossing the road.

“On the 21 of September 2020 at around 1700 hours along Hillside Road near Bulawayo fire station, Famona, the first part was driving due North along Hillside road, then the second part unknown male adult approximately 34 years old was crossing the road due East, the first part hit him,” said Assistant Inspector Msebele.

“As a result of the accident the unknown second part sustained multiple head injuries and he died on the spot”.

 She said his body was taken to UBH mortuary for post-mortem.

 Assistant Inspector Msebele urged motorists to exercise extreme caution when driving on the road.

“As the police, we are seeking anyone with information that can lead to the identification of the now deceased, people have to look for their relatives, those with a missing relative should report to any police station or proceed to the UBH mortuary for identification”.
