Organisation seeks to raise awareness of visual impairment
Gateway to Elation, an organization that works with the visually impaired is set to hold a charity walk in Bulawayo tomorrow as part of their efforts to raise awareness of visual impairment.
The elation charity walk is part of the celebrations of the Gateway to Elation’s 6th birthday.
The walk is set to start at Bulawayo City Hall around 9 am and participants will walk to 12th Avenue before returning to City Hall.
In an interview with CITE, Robert Malunda, the founder and director of Gateway to Elation, said they are conducting the walk as they want people to be aware of the services for the visually impaired.
“We will be commemorating the Gateway to Elation 6th birthday in style, we will conduct the Elation charity walk as we want people to be aware of Gateway to Elation’s services for the blind,” said Malunda.
He said the walk is also meant to fundraise as participants will have to pay to enter.
For Children, it is going to be US$2 while adults will pay US$3.
He added that branded items such as branded T-shirts, caps, and other items will also be sold at the event.
The event is also going to be graced by artists who include Vuyo Brown, Innocent Nyoni, and LightsOut WakoBulawayo.
