MRP vice president fired

The Mthwakazi Republic Party (MRP) has with immediate effect fired its vice president, Presia Ngulube.

MRP National Secretary-General Ackim Mhlanga, Sunday, wrote a letter to Ngulube advising her of the development, citing the decision was brought about by her failure to safeguard the party’s confidential information thereby exposing the party’s youths to danger.

“National Executive Committee (NEC) resolved to relieve you from your duties because of failure to safeguard NEC’s confidential information, repeatedly making it public through some members of the Party. You went against security recommendations, thereby exposing youths and yourself in particular to danger,” reads the letter seen by CITE.

The letter further stated that a full report containing all details pertaining to the decision would be availed to her.

MRP’s Communications officer Velile Moyo, confirmed the development to CITE.

Moyo said the party was not yet in a position to share the exact reasons leading to the decision, citing they had to relay the information to Ngulube first.

“The party confirms that Cde Ngulube has been relieved of her duties as vice president. We are however not yet in a position to share the reasons with members of the public as yet. We first need to ensure that she first gets all the details pertaining to this decision by the party. In the meantime we will be releasing information in stages deemed necessary by the party,” said Moyo.

“The NEC released a press statement with outlined resolutions that were taken at the sitting of the said committee in light of the 2020 planning and strategy frontage. There has been some assumptions and public debates following the release of the press, this has led to different conclusions from members and some followers of the party.”

Moyo said the party assures all its members that all communications and clarity about the resolutions will be made available to them through relevant structures when all processes have been finalised.
