Wine and cheese lovers in Bulawayo have a reason to smile, with the opening of the Cheese and Wine outlet in the city.

The outlet is located at Shop 6, Ascot Shopping Centre and is open from 8 am to 6 pm daily except for Sundays when it closes at 4 pm.

Speaking at the official opening, the proprietor Silungile “Silu” Nyoni, stated that her mission was, “to bring the finer things to Bulawayo”.

Regarding her latest establishment opening, she had this to say, “It hasn’t been that easy but with the help of a very good family, friends it has come together. We thank God for everything…I want to pay a tribute to my Mom, I think she would have been proud if she was here, I’m sure she’s looking down from heaven”.

Tastefully decorated, with a luxurious ambience, the Cheese and Wine offers a unique shopping experience in a relaxed environment.

What sets it apart is an in-house Cheesemonger as well as a Sommelier, an expert in wines who will assist shoppers in selecting the appropriate wines suitable for their palate and pocket.

The Sommelier also gives tips on pairing wine, cheese, meat and various other dishes for a perfect culinary experience at home.

Cheese and Wine has an extensive range of wines to cater for every budget, a wide assortment of cheeses as well as cold meats, crackers, pickles and other accompaniments.

Nyoni is an astute businesswoman who is changing the way Bulawayo eats and drinks, one establishment at a time.

Cheese and Wine is her third food-related business startup in 4 years, starting in 2018 with Carne Casa, a Brazilian steakhouse, followed by the opening of Picanha in 2020.
