Mother of triplets shouts for help

A 30-year-old mother of triplets, from Ward 6 in Cowdray Park, Bulawayo is appealing for assistance to raise her children after her partner abandoned them.

Prisca Dale gave birth to triplets at her home on December 29, 2022, and only went to hospital afterwards.

Narrating her ordeal to CITE, Dale said she already had another child with her partner, Thulani Sibanda before they separated.

“After our separation, I found out that I was pregnant. I looked for him to tell him but couldn’t find him. I managed to locate his relatives and told them that I was pregnant. I am not sure if his family told him as I never received a response,” she said.

Dale bemoaned how difficult her personal circumstances had been up to the moment she gave birth.

“After giving birth I told my partner’s sister that I have triplets and she said she would try to talk to the other family members but they have been silent ever since. I heard that Thulani is in South Africa,” she said.

The distressed woman asked for help from well-wishers, especially with newborn requirements.

“I stay with my father who is unemployed and my young sister is at school, so it’s difficult for me to leave my children and look for employment,” she said.

Dale said her family was also renting and they are struggling to raise money for rentals.

“It’s difficult to raise money for rent. At the same time, I have to buy baby food, baby clothes and basic needs. We need help,” she pleaded.

The troubled mother hoped that the government would assist them.

“I am appealing to the government because ever since I gave birth to the triplets we have moved three houses as people complain that we are many and that children will be making noise because my young sister also has two children. We have six children and we are nine in total and including us the elders,” Dale said.

Dale’s landlord, Grace Mapuranga said she welcomed the family to her place as she understood the challenges she was facing as a woman.

“They had a challenge as they had no place to stay, having gone to different houses and no one wanted to take in their big family. But as a woman, I took them in because I understood her predicament,” Mapuranga who added that Dale’s biggest challenge was accessing food and  clothes for the triplets.

“Their father is also elderly.”

Mapuranga added that she was also forced not to increase rental fees because she could see that Dale’s family was struggling.

Those willing to assist can contact Dale on 0775 241 549, or use the South African banking details 1769239969
