Amina Jassinta Jessub Arab, Dyonne Tanaka Tafirenyika and Noreen Jessub have had their trial on alleged drug possession further delayed, with the State telling the court it is still awaiting outstanding witness statements.
The three appeared before Bulawayo Regional Magistrate Sibonginkosi Mnkandla on Wednesday and were further remanded to 21 October 2026.
State prosecutor Nkanyezi Xaba told the court that the prosecution was still waiting for some outstanding statements before it could set a trial date.
Their lawyer, Brezhnev Mathonsi, expressed concern over the delay, saying the State had previously indicated that it would secure an early trial date.

Arab, 47, is the mother of Kelsea Tafirenyika, the second wife of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s son, Collins Mnangagwa. Tafirenyika, 28, is Arab’s daughter, while Jessub, 51, is a relative.
The three were arrested at a lodge in Bulawayo’s Ilanda suburb and were recently granted bail by the High Court.
The State alleges that police searched their rooms at the lodge and recovered suspected drugs.
Two sachets of cocaine, valued at ZiG9,000, were allegedly recovered from Jessub’s room, concealed inside a shoe.
Police allegedly found another two sachets of cocaine in Arab’s room, concealed in a small bag.
In Tafirenyika’s room, police allegedly recovered a sachet of crystal methamphetamine, another sachet of cocaine and US$53,055 in cash.
