Job seekers at Egodini Mall project have expressed disgruntlement over the recruitment process, citing confusion and inadequate information on the process.
The registration process comes after the commissioning of the contact center on Friday which will act as the employment and information center for the project.
CITE interviewed job seekers who expressed disappointment on the process.
Sengamo Khumalo from Bulawayo said he slept at the Contact Center hoping he would be the one of the first to be served.
One of the job seekers, Qalani Ncube from Gwanda said he also slept at the contact center after he got messages from WhatsApp that employment for the project was resuming on Monday.
During the stampede, some people were hurt as police were trying to control the crowd.
A street vendor who was also seeking employment said those giving away registration forms did not prioritise the early birds, triggering conflict with the latecomers.
Job seekers suggested employers should have addressed the crowd prior to giving out registration forms so as to minimise confusion.
The recruitment process started on Monday and those who will qualify will have their details entered into a database and will be employed as and when job opportunities become available.
