Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC)’s Ward 16 candidate in Bulilima Rural District (RDC) by-elections, Makhadi Moyo has said she is geared up for the September 3 political race.
Three vacancies arose in Bulilima West (Ward 1, 14 and 16) the resignation of two Zanu PF councillors, Tonny Mlotshwa and Ntungamili Dube and the death of Delani Mabhena, who also belonged to the ruling party.
CCC will be represented by Ephraim Moyo in Ward 1, another Ephraim Moyo in Ward 14, and Makhadi Moyo in Ward 16.
Speaking to CITE over the phone, Moyo said she was leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that she romps to victory come Saturday.
“We are busy campaigning as we speak right now and come Saturday I am confident of victory,” Moyo told CITE.
“That’s what I am looking forward to. We are moving around doing campaigns but ZANU-PF is intimidating us. We will, however not back off.”
Speaking in her mother language – TjiKalanga – Moyo said power lied with the people of Ward 16 (Dombolefu) to elect her into office.
“I personally do not have that power, power lies with you,” she appealed to the electorate.
“I request that you elect me on the 3rd of September so I can go and represent you in Council. That is what I am looking forward to so we can together develop our area.”
