GZU bound student seeks financial assistance to secure accommodation
A good samaritan touched by the story of a 19- year- old man from Sidobe village in Victoria Falls who was working in one of the farms for no pay is appealing for financial assistance to help him secure his place of residence at Great Zimbabwe University (GZU) in Masvingo.
Pride Ndlovu scored 14 points in his Advanced Level examinations but his father reportedly wants him to go to South Africa to look for better opportunities but he wants to pursue his education.
Pride was offered a place at GZU to study law and a donor has offered to pay his tuition fees.
Currently, he needs assistance with accommodation, meals and money to cover assignments.
The deadline for the payment accommodation fees is 10 October 2021.
In an interview with CITE, the good Samaritan, Busi Moyo said she was touched by Pride’s plight.
“We are appealing for assistance with payment of accommodation fees, meals and assignment requirements allowance. The residence fee is pegged at ZWL$15 000 per month, meals and assignments ZWL$10 000 is my view that it can cover,” said Moyo.
“I found a good Samaritan in United Kingdom (UK) who offered to pay fees but pointed out that she doesn’t cover accommodation and hence asked the boy if he can be able to find money for residence.”
Contacted for a comment, Pride said he is struggling to find means to raise money as his father has no interest in assisting him to pursue his studies.
