Ex-ZPRA cadre Moffat Ncube receives treatment

The government has come to the rescue of former ZPRA combatant Moffat Ncube following his public appeal for financial assistance to seek medical treatment on his leg.

Ncube was featured on CITE’s popular current affairs programme, The Breakfast Club, where he opened up on his health challenges detailing how his wartime injuries were still troubling him.

He got injured after he stepped on an anti-personnel landmine in 1979 which was hidden under a tree stub.

“They sent an army ambulance to take me to the United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH),” he told this publication.

“I have been hospitalized for three days now and have been receiving treatment. At the moment there haven’t been any changes as it is still early.”

Ncube said he is happy with the assistance he is receiving.

He added that the ZANU-PF politburo member, Retired Colonel Tshinga Dube also gave him a food hamper.

Ncube has been bedridden for a long time at his Cowdray Park home where he stays alone.
