The first phase of the EGodini Mall project is expected to completed before the end of the year, the local authority has revealed.

The local authority in 2012 awarded Terracotta Trading Private Limited, a South Africa Civil Engineering firm, the tender to build a modern $60 million dollar shopping mall at the Basch Street bus terminus.

The mall will be constructed in three phases, with the first phase set to be completed at the end of November.

The complex will include shopping centers, vending bays, visitors parking bays, local and regional public transport sections.

In October 2018, the project established a contact center to be used as an employment and information center for the project.

This resulted in the commencement of the recruitment process with thousands of job seekers turning up to register.

In a tweet posted on its official Twitter page on Wednesday, said the project was proceeding well with the first phase set to be completed in November.
