A 26-year-old male has appeared in court charged with the alleged murder of a Cowdray Park teenager identified as Thembelani Sibanda who was stabbed to death on Saturday evening.
The suspect identified as Bornwell Ndlovu was charged with murder as defined in section 47 of the Criminal Law Codification and Reformation Act when he appeared before Western Commonage Magistrate Lungile Ncube.
Magistrate Ncube remanded Ndlovu in custody to March 29 to allow for his lawyer to be present for the hearing.
According to the State Prosecutor Kenneth Shava, Ndlovu and an accomplice assaulted Sibanda and stabbed him.

“He died upon arrival at Mpilo Hospital.”
Shava said a witness identified Ndlovu holding the murder weapon.
“The accused was seen by Shadow Ncube holding a knife coming from the direction where the deceased was stabbed,” said Shava.
He said the clothes which were worn by Ndlovu on a fateful night will be sent for forensic examination.
“A blood-stained blue jean which the accused wore when the offence was committed, was recovered and will be sent for forensic examination,” said Shava.
He added: “ The accused had already washed the black jacket and red t-shirt he was wearing when the crime was committed
