King Mohammed VI has urged Moroccans to forgo the traditional sheep sacrifice this year due to severe drought, which has caused a drastic decline in livestock and rising meat prices. The government is importing sheep to ease shortages. Thousands of people rescued from scam compounds along the Thai-Myanmar border remain stranded due to slow repatriation efforts. Armed militias, overwhelmed by more than 7,000 people in makeshift camps, have halted further rescues.
