The Centre for Innovation and Technology (CITEZW) has announced a strategic partnership with the Dakamela Trust to deliver live coverage of the Imiklomelo kaDakamela Festival, scheduled to run from 3–6 April 2026 in Nkayi.
Imiklomelo kaDakamela is a community-driven cultural festival, led by Chief Dakamela, that celebrates local traditions and recognises community achievements. Over the years, the event has attracted thousands of attendees from Matabeleland North and beyond, becoming a key platform for preserving cultural identity.
Chief Dakamela, whose leadership has been central to the festival’s growth, said the event provides a space “where history, culture, and local development intersect,” reflecting the aspirations and stories of the community.
Under the new partnership, CITEZW will provide full-scale digital media coverage, including high-quality live streaming, on-the-ground reporting, and post-event content production.
The organisation has also been granted exclusive rights to sell advertising space across all official live broadcasts of the festival.
CITEZW Director Zenzele Ndebele said the collaboration is part of a broader strategy to develop sustainable, locally driven media models.
“This collaboration is not just about covering an event. It is about building a product that brings value to audiences and creates real opportunities for businesses to engage,” Ndebele said. “We are investing in a model that connects culture, community, and commerce in a meaningful way.”
The partnership offers advertisers access to a growing digital audience in Zimbabwe and internationally, with opportunities including live mentions, branded segments, visual placements, and post-event content such as interviews and feature stories.
“This is the first edition under this model, but our long-term vision is to grow Imiklomelo kaDakamela into a major digital broadcast property,” Ndebele added.
CITEZW is now inviting companies, brands, development partners, and local businesses to participate as advertising partners for the 2026 festival. Limited slots are available due to the exclusive nature of the agreement.
