Police in Bulawayo are appealing for information to help locate a missing two-year-old boy and identify an unknown deceased man.

Meluleki Junior Nkiwane, from Dankirk Farm along Solusi Road, was last seen on 26 January 2025 while playing outside with other children.

Bulawayo acting police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele, confirmed the incident.

โ€œHe was wearing light blue shorts. He is light brown in complexion and about 80 cm tall,โ€ she said.

In a separate case, police are also seeking help to identify an unknown man who died at Mpilo Hospital.

According to police, the man and his accomplices attempted to commit a robbery in Lobengula West, Bulawayo, at around 3 am on 21 December 2024. The intended victims raised the alarm, and members of the community gave chase, catching one suspect.

โ€œThe community members apprehended the suspect and assaulted him before taking him to ZRP Magwegwe,โ€ said Assistant Inspector Msebele.

โ€œHe was unconscious and had no form of identification. Police called an ambulance, and he was taken to Mpilo Hospital, where he later died. His body is currently at Mpilo Mortuary.โ€

The deceased is described as dark in complexion, approximately 1.5 metres tall, and believed to be in his early thirties.

โ€œHe was wearing red and black checkered trousers, a green T-shirt, a black jacket, and white tennis shoes,โ€ Assistant Inspector Msebele said.

She urged the public to always carry some form of identification to assist with police investigations and provide closure for relatives.

โ€œWe appeal to anyone missing a male relative matching this description to contact ZRP Magwegwe on (0292) 425136 or 424471, or visit the nearest police station.โ€
