A domestic dispute in Trenance, Bulawayo, ended tragically yesterday evening as 36-year-old Andrea Guest lost his life after he was fatally struck with an axe by his father, 61-year-old Ernest Guest, police have confirmed.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed that Ernest has since been arrested and investigations are currently underway.
According to reports, Andrea arrived home intoxicated and engaged in a heated argument with family members. The situation escalated when Andrea entered his father’s bedroom and physically assaulted him.

In response to the assault, Ernest Guest grabbed an axe and retaliated against his son. The altercation resulted in serious injuries to Andrea, who succumbed to his wounds overnight.
It wasn’t until the following day that Ernest discovered the tragic outcome and reported the incident to the police. He was subsequently taken into custody.
