City to honour centenarians

The Bulawayo City Council (BCC) is set to honour senior citizens who are 100 years and above as an acknowledgement of their contribution to the city’s development during their long lifespan.

The felicitations will be held sometime in August.

In a statement, the local authority appealed to residents to assist them in identifying these senior citizens.

“Do you know anyone who is 100 years and older? Are they residents of the City of Bulawayo? Send their names, address, dates of birth, and contact details by Friday 5th August 2022. We would like to celebrate the elderly community in a special way,” said Dube.

“Details can be sent to the Corporate Communications Manager at (0292) 2 885789 ext. 2352 or email publicrelations@citybyo.co.zw or leave the information at office 2, City Hall, Municipal Building.”

The event has become a tradition will the local authority taking time to celebrate the centenarians for reaching such a milestone.
