Covid-19 cases rise to 6070

Zimbabwe`s Covid-19 confirmed cases surpassed the 6000 mark, rising to 6070 after the country recorded 140 new cases on Monday.

Of these new cases, 134 were local transmissions, five returning residents from Botswana whilst one was from South Africa.

In its latest update, the Ministry of Health and Child Care confirmed that 4950 recoveries were recorded while 155 people have succumbed to the respiratory illness so far.

“As of 24 August 2020, Zimbabwe had 6 070 confirmed cases including 4 950 recoveries and 155 deaths,” the ministry said.

Active cases are now at 965.
