60 people succumb to Covid-19

Sixty people died of Covid-19 while 1 856 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Child Care has reported.

In the latest daily Covid-19 update report, the ministry noted that a total of 10 808 PCR tests were conducted countrywide.

“Harare recorded 473 new cases, followed by Mashonaland West which has 244. Manicaland had 233, Mashonaland East 211, Matabeleland North 136, Masvingo 123, Mashonaland Central 121, Matabeleland South 116, Midlands 105 and Bulawayo 94,” the report read.

“804 people are hospitalised, with 101 being new admissions, 210 are asymptomatic cases, 454 are mild to moderate, 101 are severe are and 39 are in Intensive Care Units.”

The report further read that 40 135 received the 1st dose today bringing cumulative to 1 562 285 while 18 466 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative to 713 131.

As of 28 July 2021, Zimbabwe has recorded a total of 103 567 cases 71 383 recoveries and 3 340 deaths.
