Three Binga men arrested for beating neighbour to death
Three men from Binga, have been arrested and charged with murder following an incident where villagers teamed up to “discipline” a neighbour for being a nuisance at a beer drink.
Singazi Kunene (32) from Bilinda Village in Chinonge was among patrons at a homestead where scores of villagers had gathered for a community cultural event.
In a drunken stupor, Kunene allegedly started misbehaving. When some villagers restrained him, he allegedly became violent and set a bedroom hut on fire.
Enraged, the other villagers manhandled and tied Kunene up with ropes before assaulting him. He was found unconscious the following morning and his body was taken to United Bulawayo Hospitals for post-mortem.
Three villagers, Nkosiyenzelwa Masuku (50), Simptom Ncube Watson (28), and Cosmas Ncube (40), all from Bilinda Village, Chinonge, have since been arrested and charged with murder.
