Man found dead on school grounds

Two Grade Five learners at Intuta primary school in Sizinda suburb in Bulawayo stumbled on a dead body at the school’s grounds on Monday morning.

In a statement, acting Bulawayo police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele said they were treating it as a murder case.

“Police in Bulawayo are investigating a case of murder where a male adult aged 21 was found lying in the school ground half-naked facing downwards,” she said.

“On the 22nd day of November 2021 at around 0700hrs and at Intunta Primary School, two grade five pupils were doing routine task around the school premises when they came across a dead body in the school ground and went on to alert the school authorities who later phoned the police,” Msebele said.

She added, “Police attended the scene and noted the now deceased had bruises on the body and nothing was found in his possession. The deceased was later positively identified by his father. The body was conveyed to United Bulawayo Hospitals Mortuary. Investigations are still in progress and the accused is unknown.”

Assistant Inspector Msebele appealed to those who might have information on the case to report at their nearest police station.
