All set for Transform Africa Summit

All is set for the 6th edition of the continental Transform Africa Summit where five heads of State have been confirmed to attend the three-day conference in Victoria Falls.

The event will run from 26 to 28 April.

Transform Africa Summit organisers said Presidents Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe, Paul Kagame of Rwanda, Lazarus Chakwera of Malawi, King Mswati III of the Kingdom of Eswatini and Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia had confirmed they will attend.

Kagame is chair of the Smart Africa Board which comprises heads of state.

More presidents are expected at the event, while 40 ministers, heads of International organisations and scores of diplomats and also expected from about 100 countries.

The conference organisers expect more than 3 000 delegates.

“We are delighted to announce that the highly anticipated Transform Africa Summit will take place shortly in Victoria Falls. We have the pleasure of confirming the attendance of five distinguished Heads of State, with more to come.

“Furthermore, we are pleased to inform you that Angola, Estonia, and Tunisia have officially delegated representatives from their Heads of State to attend, while H.E. Siniša Mali, the Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister of Serbia, will also be in attendance,” said the organisers in a statement.

“In addition to these distinguished guests, we are honoured to welcome almost 40 Ministers, Heads of International Organisations, Diplomats, Captains of Industry, and delegates from over 100 countries.”

Advance technical teams have started arriving in Victoria Falls while the venue has been set.

Zimbabwe is the first to host the event outside Rwanda which hosted the previous five editions.

The Summit is Africa’s leading annual forum bringing together global and regional leaders from Government, business and international organisations to collaborate on new ways of shaping, accelerating and sustaining Africa’s ongoing digital revolution.

The international day for girls in ICT will be celebrated on the sidelines of the conference.
