A Bulawayo woman has appeared in court facing domestic violence charges after she allegedly punched her husband who had accused her of infidelity.

She was remanded out of custody to July 20.

Sarudzai and the complainant, Bornface Makoni (48), are legally married.

The court heard that on July 1, Bornface received an anonymous tip that his wife had been spotted with another man at Glengarry shopping centre.

Bornface proceeded to the shopping centre, and spotted his wife with her workmate, one Shingirai Nyamaropa.

When the two noticed that they had been discovered drove off.

Bornface went back home and his wife came an hour later and he confronted her on the issue.

Sarudzai denied that she was in an adulterous relationship with Nyamaropa and claimed they were sharing money they had made after selling fuel on the black market.

She then demanded to know why he had told her colleagues about seeing her with Nyamaropa.

Bornface retired to bed but he armed herself with a scissors intending to stab her husband and a scuffle ensued.

He managed to free himself away and went outside. Sarudzai then locked the doors and her husband proceeded to Queens park police station to report the matter.

Officers attended to the scene and warned Sarudzai about her actions.

He left for work and when he came back in the evening he found the house locked.

Bornface later discovered that some of the household property including sofas, gas stove, various kitchen utensils and cash amounting to US$9000 was missing.

He made a police report leading to Sarudzai`s arrest.
