Speaking to CITE, Rebeccaโ€™s father, Petros Ngwenya said her daughter was only admitted at Plumtree Hospital on 10 December.

โ€œI live in Nkayi and following our breakup , Rebeccaโ€™s mother took the children to Plumtree where they live with their grandmother. I was informed that my daughter was bitten by a snake on her left hand,โ€ said Ngwenya.

Ngwenya was later referred to United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) for further management.

โ€œ She was admitted at UBH but I was forced to remove my daughter from hospital as I could not afford hospital bills as there is another bill at Plumtree Hospital, so we couldnโ€™t afford for her to be admitted,โ€ he said.
