On 23 March 2024, the Ngwana community was left in shock and disbelief after a violent domestic incident involving Michael Sono and his in-laws.
The Incident:
Michael Sono, married to Thobile Moyo, reportedly attacked Thobile’s elderly parents, George and Dorcus Moyo, demanding to know the whereabouts of his wife and son. Thobile and her son have been on the run, fearing for their lives due to Michael’s abusive behaviour.
Details of the Attack:
According to witnesses, Michael Sono physically assaulted George and Dorcus Moyo, causing significant distress and injury. He aggressively demanded information on his wife’s location, showing no regard for the elderly couple’s well-being.
Thobile’s disappearance with her son is reportedly a desperate measure to escape her husband’s abusive behaviour. Michael Sono, a prominent figure in the ANC Youth League, is known for his history of domestic violence, particularly towards his wife, Thobile.
