PROMISE CHECKER: Matabeleland North provincial offices to relocate to Lupane in February 2020.

Claim: The Minister of State for Matabeleland North Provincial Affairs, Richard Moyo claimed that the provincial offices will relocate to Lupane around February 2020.

Minister Moyo told CITE that the relocation process has not yet taken place as the new premises in Lupane do not have electricity in the offices and some of the staff houses.

The minister said they are now targeting to relocate in the second quarter of the year. 

In February 2019, Matabeleland North Provincial Affairs Minister Richard Moyo indicated that the provincial offices will relocate from Mhlahlandlela Government Complex in Bulawayo the provincial capital, Lupane, by August 2019.

The deadline was missed as the offices had not relocated in August and by the end of 2019.

Another deadline missed

In January 2020, Minister Moyo made another promise that the offices will be relocated by the end of February 2020.

The deadline was missed again as the offices are still to relocate to Lupane.
