The Zimbabwe Defence and Security Services says Operation Restore Legacy has come to an end.

Addressing a press conference at Josiah Magama Tongogara Barracks this morning, Commander Zimbabwe National Army Lieutenant General Philip Valerio Sibanda said Operation Restore Legacy has achieved its purpose to apprehend criminals around the former president and there is now change of guard in the countryโ€™s leadership.

Lieutenant General Sibanda, flanked by other members of the security services, also revealed that police is back to its normal law enforcement duties.

The Commander ZNA said some of the criminals who escaped are bad-mouthing the country but these should be ignored.

He urged Zimbabweans to remain united and peaceful as the country prepares for the 2018 harmonised elections.
