Two men have been sentenced to a nine-year mandatory sentence by the Goromonzi Magistrate Court for stock theft.
The accused, Nomater Meza (31) and Cadino Everistor (28) hatched a plan to steal their employer’s bull.
They loaded the bull into Meza’s car but an unnamed witness spotted them.
“A witness saw the bull and chased the two in their car. They got stuck when the witness who was chasing after them managed to block their vehicle. They fled the scene on foot, abandoning their car. They turned themselves in to the Police later that day,” the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe said in a statement.
In an unrelated matter, a Victoria Falls woman has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for aggravated indecent assault.
According to NPAZ, sometime in January 2023, the accused person coerced her 28-year-old neighbour into having sexual relations with her without his consent at her field.
The accused person also engaged in sexual activities with the complainant sometime between 1 February 2023 and 9 June 2023 without his consent.
The matter came to light when the complainant confided in his brother leading to the accused person’s arrest.
