Theย MDC Alliance has dismissed as fake, a poster doing the rounds on social media claiming that the opposition party would hold a rally on April 3, 2020 at the party`s headquarters in Harare in support of beleaguered party leader Nelson Chamisa.

ย โ€œIt is fake new,ย weย have no plan toย organizeย  anyย demo at all,โ€ said said the party spokesperson Danielย Molokele.ย 

In addition, the Parliamentary Portfolio on Health and Child Care chairperson Dr Ruth Labode said the party was in support of the nationwide lockdown. 

โ€œAs MDC we supported the lockdown, we do not have a different position,โ€ said MPย Labode.ย 

In their  Social Media โ€˜Twitter ‘page MDC posted urging people to stay at home and prevent the spread of Covid-19. 

โ€œAs we enter Day 4 of #LockdownZim, we urge Zimbabweans to stay at home, wash your hands and practicing social distancing. 

โ€œAll hands on deck to prevent the spread of #Covid-19. We must save lives and mitigate suffering.โ€ read the Twitter message.
