On 7 December 2022, CITE published an article alleging that nurses at Mater Dei Hospital in Bulawayo had gone on strike after they were paid US$10 as their annual bonus.
We have since established that the information that we were supplied by our sources was inaccurate. We also erroneously quoted the hospital administrator Maureen Jamieson in the article when she was not the one who offered a comment to our reporter.
We unreservedly apologise to Mater Dei hospital, the board of trustees, staff and patients for the inconveniences caused by this article. – Editor
