Mapopoma Festival ready to rock Victoria Falls
Organisers of the annual Mapopoma Festival have said preparations for the December 29 to 31 event are well advanced.
The 5th edition of the event will be held at Baobab Primary School and Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Barbara Rwodzi will officially open the activities
This will be the first time in the Mapopoma Festival history to be officiated by a minister.
Mapopoma Festival is a celebration of music, arts and culture.
Organisers have said all is set to thrill fun lovers with an unforgettable experience with a diverse line-up of musicians from different genres.
The full line-up of artists includes Yo Maps, Murumba Pitch, Nutty O, Boohle, Holy Ten, Tebza De DJ, Baba Harare, Mzoe 7, Jeys Marabini, Gwevedzi, DT Bio Mudimba, Sky Root, Muffia King, Nizhe Desoul, Travellers Band, Shabach the Band, Novuyo Seagal, Diana Samkange, Gule Motion, TRP and Asante Mo.
There will also be DJs Skimboh, Ashley, Jerry Springer, Lexxy and others.
In an update statement, the organisers said: “All is set for the much-awaited Mapopoma Festival with its 5th edition promising a spectacular celebration of music, arts, and culture. Taking place from the 29th to the 31st of December 2023 at Baobab Primary School in Victoria Falls, this year’s festival is all set to enchant the general public with an unforgettable experience.
“The festival boasts a diverse lineup of musicians from various genre from internationally acclaimed headliners to emerging local talents. The festival promises to deliver captivating performances that will resonate with music enthusiasts of all ages and the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Barbara Rwodzi is expected to officially open Mapopoma Festival on 28 December while launching the 2024 6th Edition of the festival,” they said.
Several side events have been organised including a Boat Party, Shorts and Shades at Cotton House, also operated by Mapopoma Festival organisers.
There will also be children’s activities, interactive games, and family-oriented performances.
Some accommodation will be offered on-site at Campville under the SEAL initiative that is part of Mapopoma.
