A 27-year -old man from Nketa 9 suburb in Bulawayo allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his sisterโs bedroom at their family home, Thursday.
Brian Thodlana`s lifeless body was found hanging by one of his brothers around 8 PM as he returned from work.
Bulawayo police spokesperson, Inspector Abednico Ncube, confirmed the incident.
โPolice are investigating a case of sudden death of a 27-year-old man which happened on February 13. He was left by his two brothers in the morning as they went about with their daily business. Onne of the brothers, upon return from work, stumbled on a written note which read โIโm sorry, mina sengehlulekileโ (I have failed)(sic),โ said Ncube.
โThe note directed him to a bedroom belonging to a sister who is in the United Kingdom. He phoned the other brother who came back home and made a report to the police. Police who attended the scene carried out a body inspection.โ
Inspector Ncube said the note picked at the scene confirmed that it was a suicide case.
He said the police took the body to United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH).
However, a source who spoke on condition of anonymity told CITE that the circumstances around Thodlana`s death did not point to suicide.
The source said Thodlanaโs hands were tied to his back and there was no way he could have been able to hang himself on the roof trusses.
โWhat is suspicious about all this is the fact that his hands were tightly tied to his back. There is no way one can hang themselves with their hands tied. His legs almost touched the floor and there was a fallen chair in front of him. We hope investigations will bring out what exactly happened,โ said the source.
The source said Thodlana stayed at the house with his three brothers following the death of both their parents who had served in the army.
The truth will come out eventually #rip bro #we will miss you
