Lupane student secures place at Fatima High School
The dream of a Lupane student who scored seven units in her grade seven examinations and sought help to continue her education at a secondary school has manifested into reality, as she is now enrolled at Fatima High School.
Sizalobuhle Mutangi from the Jabatshaba area had not been able to secure a Form One place due to lack of funds.
However, well-wishers both locally and abroad chipped in to assist with finances, school uniforms, stationery, and other boarding necessities for Sizalobuhle to be enrolled as a boarder at the school.
Moved by her plight, multi-award-winning poet and philanthropist Obert Dube mobilised assistance for her through his media platforms.
Well-wishers then pooled resources together to assist her further her education.
While she has secured a place, she needs more assistance as her fees has not been paid in full.
“The child is now at school but has not yet paid full fees. We had appealed for assistance, but the child is now at school,” said Dube.
Dube said there is a balance of US$250 for the fees.
Her grandfather, Felix Ndlovu, expressed his appreciation for the help given to his granddaughter.
“My granddaughter is now at school, staying there as a boarder. I saw a lot of stationery that was bought, and I really appreciate the assistance we received from people,” said Ndlovu.
