Is it true that ZANU-PF is distributing food parcels throughout the country?
Claim: A Twitter user claimed that the ruling party ZANU-PF was distributing food parcels countrywide during the 21 day lockdown.
VERDICT: FALSE the Government of Zimbabwe NOT ZANU-PF are distributing food parcels in rural areas around the country
The picture used in the Tweet is not from Zimbabwe. It originated from Rwanda when that country`s president, Paul Kagame was making a donation.
The Government of Zimbabwe NOT ZANU PF has a running food program in rural areas, But for the urban population the government of Zimbabwe is still in the process of making available a financial relief package for one million vulnerable households who are likely to be affected by the 21 day lock down currently underway.

He attached a picture showing food parcels which he claimed were being distributed by the ruling party.
A Zimbabwean journalist Hopewell Chinโono @daddyhope used the same picture in his tweet saying, โThis is what @PaulKagame is doing for the poor in Rwanda during #Lockdown!. We should never get tired of reminding Zanupf, Mnangagwa, his enablers, ghost accounts and supporters that ED is failing to do this because ZANUPF loots state money through Sakunda and others,โ read the tweet.

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development has set aside resources to cater for one million vulnerable households who are likely to be affected by the 21 day lock down currently underway.
Through a press statement issued on 30 March 2020, the Minister of Finance and Economic Development Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube assured the nation that “The Treasury will initially be availing an amount of ZWL200 million per month under a cash transfer programme over the next three months and both the amount and duration of payments will be reviewed as necessary,” read the statement.
On the 30th of March 2020 Minister of Finance and Economic Development Minister Professor Mthuli Ncube said the bail out plan which will be paid through cash transfer would commence immediately.
“The Treasury has set aside resources to cover one million vulnerable households under a cash transfer programme and payment which will commence immediately,The Social Welfare Department will use its usual mechanisms to identify its beneficiaries” said the Minister.
