Infant dies after being dumped in public toilet

Police in Bulawayo are looking for an unknown female who dumped a newly born baby inside a public toilet in Magwegwe North terminus on Tuesday.

The baby was found dead by a man who was cleaning the toilets.

Bulawayo police spokesperson, Inspector Abednico Ncube confirmed the incident.

“On 10 January 2023 at around 8am a male adult aged 64 years of Pumula North, Bulawayo was cleaning a public toilet at Magwegwe North terminus when he discovered a dead human foetus dumped inside a chamber with some blood stains,” said Inspector Ncube.

He said a report was made to the police and the foetus was conveyed to United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH).

Inspector Ncube called on the public to assist with information on the whereabouts of the suspect.

“Anyone with information may contact their nearest police station.”

The police spokesperson also urged members of the public to accept reality that might have befallen them and seek assistance from elders or relatives.
