A human skull has been discovered near Malalume Clinic in Bulilima District, Matabeleland South Province, prompting police investigations.

According to Assistant Inspector Stanford Mguni, spokesperson for Matabeleland South police, the skull was found on 28 April by a worker performing routine tasks around the clinic.

“A worker stumbled upon the skull buried under the soil. Upon inspection, we confirmed it belonged to an adult human,” said Mguni. “This is not a recent death, evidence suggests the individual died long ago.”

The police believe the remains may be linked to past events rather than any recent crime.

“We are continuing our investigations, but at this point, we have no suspects and no indication of foul play,” Mguni said. “We believe the individual died and was buried in the area long ago. Given the historical activity around the nearby mountain, we are looking into possible connections, but there is no suspicion of a recent crime.”
