High Court blocks further recalls by Tshabangu

Highย Courtย judge Justiceย Tawandaย Chitapiย on Thursdayย granted an application byย the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) toย stop furtherย recallsย of party representativesย byย Sengezoย Tshabangu.ย

Tshabangu, who claims to be the party’s interim secretary general has recalled CCCย councillors, senatorsย andย Members ofย Parliament triggering by-elections with the first batch to be held on Saturday. ย ย

Theย partyย hadย filed a legal interdict in October to block Tshabangu from carrying out more recalls of its elected representatives.ย

In their application, the CCC asked the High Court to stop Tshabangu from directly or indirectly claiming to represent the party and to stop him from recalling its members who were voted into office.

โ€œWe thank God that we managed to prevent further recalls. This is not the end of the battle. In theย meantime@DubekoSibanda, and all other recalled MPs, continue preparing for the by-elections. Giveย it your best shot,โ€ he said.ย
