The Ministry of Health and Child Care’s latest report, covering the week ending March 24, 2024, reveals five fatalities and 1 588 new malaria cases.
“One death each was reported from Centenary and Mt. Darwin Districts in Mashonaland Central Province,” the ministry’s statement detailed. “Two deaths occurred in Masvingo Province, and another was reported at Mpilo Central Hospital in Bulawayo Province.”
Mashonaland Central Province recorded the highest number of new cases (901), followed by Manicaland Province (243).
The cumulative total for malaria cases in Zimbabwe now stands at 10,957, with 15 confirmed deaths.
