Companies, non-governmental organisations and development partners will have an opportunity to advertise their products and services during the Imiklomelo kaDakamela festival, following a new partnership between the Centre for Innovation and Technology and the Dakamela Trust.
The agreement gives CITEZW exclusive rights to sell advertising space across all official live broadcasts of the 2026 event, which will run from 3 to 6 April in Nkayi.
Under the deal, businesses and organisations will be able to promote their brands through a mix of live mentions, branded segments and visual placements during the festival’s digital broadcasts, as well as extended exposure through post-event content.
Organisers say the arrangement is aimed at connecting advertisers with both physical and online audiences, as the festival continues to expand its reach beyond local communities.
CITEZW will provide full-scale coverage of the event, including live streaming, on-the-ground reporting and post-production content, positioning the festival as a growing digital broadcast platform.
Director Zenzele Ndebele said the initiative was part of efforts to build sustainable, locally driven media models.
“This collaboration is not just about covering an event. It is about building a product that brings value to audiences and creates real opportunities for businesses to engage,” he said.
Imiklomelo kaDakamela, launched in 2023, recognises individuals excelling in areas such as health, education and social development, while promoting cultural heritage.
The festival is led by Chief Dakamela, who has championed its growth as a platform that links culture, community, and development.
For advertisers, organisers say the appeal lies in both reach and relevance, offering brands a chance to align with cultural identity and community impact while accessing a wider digital audience.
CITEZW has invited interested companies, NGOs and other partners to take up advertising and sponsorship opportunities, noting that slots are limited under the exclusive arrangement.
Those interested can request advertising rate cards, sponsorship packages and customised brand integration opportunities by contacting CITEZW via email at zenzele@cite.org.zw or tanaka@cite.org.zw, or by phone on +263 773 103 262, +263 788 084 339, and +263 781 464 664.
