Another newborn baby found dumped

A two-week-old baby boy was found dumped in a gravel pit in Bulawayo’s Pumula South on Sunday.

The baby who was placed inside a plastic bag was wearing a diaper only.

“Police in Bulawayo are investigating a case of exposing an infant in which a baby boy (approximately two weeks old) was found in a gravel pit at Emagodini, Pumula South on Sunday. The baby was wearing a diaper only and was placed in a plastic paper,” the police said on their Twitter page.

In a similar incident, ZRP Western Commonage is investigating another case of baby dumping after a baby boy (approximately two weeks old) was found wrapped in a cream and red blanket along a railway line near Matshobane ground on Saturday.

The police said the babies have since been admitted to local hospitals.
